Alex grew up in the small town of Andrews S.C. playing in the woods and waters of Georgetown and Williamsburg counties.  He recieved artistic encouragement and inspiration from his grandmothers, both of whom were artistically inclined and forward thinking.  His passion for art was revived his senior year at Andrews High School after winning a sculptural design competition and overseeing its fabrication.  He began painting while earning a Associates of Art at Spartanburg Methodist College.   Later completing a Bachelors of Fine Arts at Clemson University, he established Rising Tide Studio.  He currently resides in Charleston South Carolina where he enjoys the abundance of artistic peers and coastal waters.
